Hall of Fame Open : Duckworth reaches last eight

James Duckworth won against Quentin Halys 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 on Wednesday evening. He’ll play the winner of the match between Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the top seed, and Australian Jason Murray Kubler in the next round

Australian James Duckworth, the No 8 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Hall of Fame Open by winning against Frenchman Quentin Halys 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Wednesday evening.

Duckworth, ranked No 74, will play the winner of the match between Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the top seed, and Australian Jason Murray Kubler next.

In the previous round of the Hall of Fame Open, the Australian defeated qualifier Liam Broady (6-2, 4-6, 6-2) ahead of his victory. Halys, ranked No 86, beat Australian Alexei Popyrin (7-6 (5), 6-3).
