Lausanne Open: Potapova books spot in last eight, defeating No3 seed Begu

Russian Anastasia Potapova won against Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 3 seed, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of the Lausanne Open at Tennis Club du Stade-Lausanne on Wednesday.

Potapova, ranked No 79, will face the winner of the match between Jule Niemeier and qualifier Eva Lys next.

In the previous round of the Lausanne, the 21-year-old Russian edged out Italian Lucia Bronzetti (6-2, 3-6, 6-4). Begu, ranked No 49, beat German Tamara Korpatsch (6-4, 6-2) in the first round of the Lausanne.
