Frenchman Quentin Halys defeated Australian Alexei Popyrin 7-6 (5), 6-3 to reach the second round of the Hall of Fame Open at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Tuesday evening.
Halys, ranked No 86, will face Australian James Duckworth, the No 8 seed, next.
