Spaniard Rebeka Masarova edged out Slovak Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova, the second seed, 3-6, 6-1, 7-5 to move into the last 4 of the Nordea Open at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Thursday.
Masarova, ranked No 146, will face American Lauren Davis, the No 6 seed, next.
The 22-year-old Spaniard won against American Grace Min (6-1, 0-6, 6-2) and Swede Mirjam Bjorklund (6-2, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Swedish Open, Schmiedlova, ranked No 84, defeated Finn Anastasia Kulikova (6-1, 7-6 (5)) and Russian Elina Avanesyan (6-2, 6-3).
