Grand Est Open: Papadakis advances to second round

Lena Papadakis won against Zoe Hives 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Monday and will play the winner of the match between Hungarian Anna Bondar, the top seed, and Brazilian Laura Pigossi in the next round

German qualifier Lena Papadakis reached the second round of the Grand Est Open by winning against Australian Zoe Hives 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at Tennis Club de Contrexéville on Monday afternoon.

Papadakis, ranked No 320, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian Anna Bondar, the top seed, and Brazilian Laura Pigossi next.
