Paul through to second round after straight-sets win over Verdasco

American Tommy Paul, the No 30 seed, reached the second round of Wimbledon by beating Spaniard Fernando Verdasco 6-1, 6-2, 7-6 (4) at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London on Monday.
Paul, ranked No 35, will play the winner of the match between Frenchman Adrian Mannarino and Australian qualifier Max Purcell next.
