No 3 seed Taylor Fritz won the Rothesay International Eastbourne tournament by edging out Maxime Cressy 6-2, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4) on Saturday afternoon.
He reclaims the title he won back in 2019 by beating his compatriot in a first-time meeting.
Earlier in the tournament, Fritz, ranked No 14, defeated Brazilian qualifier Thiago Moura Monteiro (7-5, 6-3), Kazakh Alexander Bublik (6-3, 6-2) and Australian Alex De Minaur, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-3).
Cressy, ranked No 60, beat No 5 seed Reilly Opelka (6-3, 6-1), Daniel Evans (7-6 (2), 6-4), top seed Cameron Norrie (7-5, 7-5) and wildcard Jack Draper (7-6 (5), 6-7 (2), 6-3) in the previous rounds.
