Kyrgios overcomes Djere in final-set tiebreak to reach second round in Mallorca

Australian Nick Kyrgios edged out Serb Laslo Djere 5-7, 7-6 (1), 7-6 (1) to move into the second round of the Mallorca Open at Mallorca Country Club on Tuesday evening.

Kyrgios, ranked No 45, earned two break points in the match, converting one while he saved seven of eight break points chances against his own serve. He also hit 24 aces during the match.

The Australian, who was revealed as the first client of Naomi Osaka‘s new agency EVOLVE on Monday, will play Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 5 seed, next.
