The World Tour Finals Has Been Hosted by 13 Different Cities

London's 02 Arena has logged 12 years as the event's home, but New York has is the longest-serving venue: Madison Square Garden hosted the World Tour Finals from 1977 to 1989. London’s 12-year run as host will conclude with this year’s event.

First time champions: For the fourth year in a row in 2019, a first-time champion was crowned at the ATP Finals. Stefanos Tsitsipas followed Alexander Zverev (2018), Grigor Dimitrov (2017) and Andy Murray (2016) to create the second streak of four first-time champions in tournament history.

Longest final: 2005 David Nalbandian defeated Roger Federer 6-7(4), 6-7(11) 6-2 6-1 7-6(3) in the 2005 final at Shanghai, which lasted 4:33.

Best-of-Five Finals: There were four finals that went five sets in ATP Finals history, with the first happening in 1981 when Ivan Lendl defeated Vitas Gerulaitis. The other three were: 1988, Becker d. Lendl, 1996, Sampras d. Becker, 2005, Nalbandian d. Federer. Becker is the only player to have contested two five-set finals at the ATP Finals.

Oldest Champion: Roger Federer is still the oldest ATP Finals champion and the only player to have won the title beyond the age of 30. Federer claimed that award in 2011 when he defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3 6-7(6) 6-3 in the final.
